Seafood is fresh and prepared brilliantly. The service is excellent, we are visiting from Bend Oregon and will return next year, just loved the fish tacos, clam chowder and the clams in bacon wine broth were excellent. Yum, yum

Probably the best service I've ever received in a tavern-style restaurant. The food is very good and the portions are good. We ate their cod fish & chips, which were good, but slightly soggy after a few minutes. We got a shrimp cocktail, tasty and fresh, and a crab taco (2 arrived) which was friggin awesome. The fries are battered and awesome and they have good deals on beer. I will happily return. There were multiple flat-screen TVs and it was clean and nice. We were with a mix of fishermen and tourists, everyone was friendly and the place is big enough to not feel rushed or crowded.

I was on the search for some delicious clam chowder in the Coos Bay Area which brought me to this restaurant. My husband hates seafood so we were pleased to find this place with lots of non-seafood options. He ordered a pork sandwich with the green chili. He said his sandwich was okay but nothing special. However, the green chili was AMAZING! Pretty spicy and super flavorful, mmmm sooo good! I had the fried fish tacos and clam chowder. WOW! I enjoyed both as well. We also ordered some tasty draft beers that were nice and cold. What I thought set this place apart from the rest was the service. They were so friendly and quick. I felt welcomed which isn't always the case when you're somebody just passing through. I'd definitely recommend this place to anybody.

The food at Millers is always fresh, fast and tasty. The service however is always lacking. We went on a busy Sunday, full-house, and spent 1.5 hours there. Our server came over once! Meanwhile the server at the table behind us was very attentive and was at her table every few mins. We planned on ordering dinner but only got drinks since no one came to our table after 45 mins of sitting with empty glasses. Luckily two other servers (not the original) asked if we needed anything. We let one know we hadn't seen our server in 45 mins. She apologized and refilled our drinks. Another 30 mins later we received our checks from another server. Honestly not sure what our server was on, but she doesn't even quality as a server since she didn't serve us. We had out of town guests with us and we're embarrassed after talking this place up to them.

Louise here on the OR coast looking for the best fish and chips. Found a great little sports pub right here in Charleston. Actually, this is a repurposed church! Can I hear a "hallelujah and praise the Lord." Service was fast and effecient and the Cod fish fresh off the boat. Chips were mediocre but the fresh slaw and good selection of beer made up for it. We will be back.
(4)Jim T.
I came in for lunch and they have a really good variety of food. I had the cod fish n chips and they were a little too greasy. Fries were very good. We also had the combination plate food was OK portion was a little small. It's a good choice if you don't want to make drive into Coos Bay.
(3)Jan F.
Great spot for lunch. I loved my clam chowder and crab tacos. He was particularly pleased with his cup of green chili and also enjoyed his grilled cheese with a vinegar based cole slaw. Wish that we could have tried other things on the menu. So many good choices. No wonder the restaurant was packed with what seemed to be locals including one large party. Service was good in spite of that was going on.
(4)Liam K.
The best seafood chowder I've ever had. Delicious chili. Delicious brownie sundae. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere, does not feel like a "bar". Very casual and clean restaurant. We didn't enjoy the fish tacos, like so many others have. Ours had small deep-fried, battered balls of cod. They tasted fine, but were not our idea of a fish taco. We are spoiled by Wahoo's in San Clemente, CA. That aside, we would definitely eat here again.
(4)Tim S.
I had dinner and lunch here this weekend and was very happy with all aspects of my experience. They have very friendly servers and bartenders who made me feel right at home. Try the clam chowder -- unless you are totally stuck in the rut of an overly creamy style. This chowder is unique and excellent. Fish tacos and other Mexican food also yummy.
(5)Tobi F.
Great place in Charleston to grab fish tacos very friendly staff the owner Scott made us feel right at home definitely a stop when you're driving the Oregon coast. Great selection of beers on tap and you can catch the latest sports.
(5)Ron S.
Nice bar and great food! Got the Crab melt and it was busting with crab meat, the bread was great and the place is really clean.
(5)Kathy K.
I asked at Chuck's Seafood for a recommendation for crab cakes and was sent to Miller's down the road. Miller's crab cakes were the best I have ever had. The cakes were mostly crab with just a little bit of (probably) potato. All the crab cakes I have previously eaten were mostly mashed potatoes with a little crab and they were molded into a neat round cake. The ones at Millers didn't look as perfectly made because they were mostly crab and didn't hold together because there was not much potato. The crab was fresh and delicious. They were cooked in a pan just right. The aioli was good also. It was a delight to eat them. Definitely the best ever.

Ok, we went around 2 so it wasn't that busy. I ordered a cup of chowder and a chicken salad. 30 minutes later I got my soup. It was not your typical clam chowder. It had cumin I think in it. Maybe to much. Kinda a can of soup consistency, when I'm used to thick creamy consistency. I live here so I've had probably 50 bowls. So not excited about that. Then I eat and finished and had to wait 15 minutes after finished. So I got salad a hour after I ordered. People got food next to us before us but we came 10 minutes before them. I have a back injury so I was really irritated so I waited a day to post this. This is me being nice. I did get to watch a basketball game though. Service was ok. O then we eat and we sat for a good 10 minutes after they took plates to get receipt. It was close to two hours before we got out. And there was only maybe two other tables. A little frustrated

The owner's are the nicest people and with all places that makes it worth coming. The Green Chili is my favorite thing on the menu, followed by the Fish Tacos (and I don't like Fish Tacos) and then the Monday $1 Tacos!!
(4)Robert S.
Great Sports bar with 6 or 8 taps, 4 flat screen TVs, gas fire place to take the chill off and a pool table. I had a fish taco very good. A mixed crowd definitely a place you can hang with friends or even your parents!
(5)John C.
Miller's has been one of of my most highly recommended restaurants until recently when the service was far below acceptable. I talked to the owner, and he assured me that there has been a change in staff. The food is very good, the prices reasonable, and if the service is lacking, notify the owner. I want this restaurant to continue to be high on my list, but poor service in the future would lose my recommendation for all of our vacation rental guests.

We came in for dinner after a day at Sunset Beach since it was on our way home. They have daily specials, (looks like good deals) & happy hour from 2-6. The Tangerine Wheat Beer was awesome!!! My husband likes the Mirror Pond. We got a 1 lb steamer clam sampler, loved them! The clam chowder was good, and really thick more like Good hearty clam stew. My daughter got 2 cheeseburger sliders (the Sunday daily special) she said they were really good and they were just enough for her for dinner along with an ice tea. My husband got 1 Crab Taco & I got 1 Cod Baja Taco. They were yummy! I would very much recommend this place for the food and the beer! & I also want to add the waiter we had was great!!
(5)Russell T.
Great place for a quick bite, chowder, and fish tacos are excellent, my wife always gets fish and chips and they are wonderful. Everything I have tried so far has been really good and reasonably priced. If your a beer lover this place is for you. Staff is also friendly.
(4)Ryan M.
Great fish and chips! Had good beer great food and even board games for the kids. Only drawback- it was a little pricy for pub food.
(4)Meg S.
Ate dinner here last night. Enjoyed the chowder and crab tacos. Server was sweet, but never checked back with us about our meal or refilling/ordering more drinks.
(4)Rhiannon M.
Our server was not friendly and didn't know much about the menu or drinks. She kept interrupting our conversations.
(2)Janive S.
This place was recommended to us by the girl at Fishermen's Wharf about two blocks away because they were out of crab to our dismay!!! The place is super cute and divey. We sat at the bar and our server was great! He was patient and answered all our questions with a smile :) We were hungry so we got a few things to share. The clam chowder is really different than what were used to: more brothy than creamy, and big chunks of potato! The calamari was fresh and crispy and I mixed marinara with their lime aioli and it was SO good! Then came the tacos: the shrimp was adorable, and our reason for being in a crabbing town, the Dungeness crab was SO delicious! It left me wanting more so we ordered the crab cake to finish off the meal. It is ALL crab, hardly any filler, and super fresh! Go here. You won't regret it!
(5)Amanda K.
Great staff, especially Missy. She is knowledgeable of her position and quite friendly and efficient. Great local company. Great drinks. Great all around topped off with an excellent local owner. Love it here.
(5)Robert H.
Very friendly staff. The food was average. Party of four and everyone in the group felt the same. We probably would not return for the food when visiting again.
(3)Neil H.
Nice friendly staff Stay down the road every couple of years and the place has stayed the same great food love those fish tacos had fresh halibut this time tortillas stacked high and a great beer selection
(5)M. S.
My boyfriend is a huge fan. He was blown away when the onion rings came out. Giant, pub style. His louie salad looked pretty delicious too huge chunks of crab. I had the chowder, and it was pretty OK. His salad definitely made me rethink my choice. Looking forward to trying the tacos next time!
(3)Justin W.
The atmosphere and staff make you want to keep coming here every day. It's like hanging out with family. Our waitress Chelsey was amazing. Ask for her on Sundays. Scott is the owner and he is always a smiling face. We love it here
(5)Tony S.
Great crab tacos and friendly harassing staff. This is a place you come back to, over and over. Then when you move away... You stop here when you're in the AO. Always a great place for a beer or just dinner... If you're into that stuff. :)
(5)Sarah H.
Everything so far on the menu has been amazing! Best green chili soup, french fries. I always get the French dip, and my husband claims it has BEST fish and chips around. Great beer selection, atmosphere is perfect for adults or kids. We drive 40 minutes just to eat here! Recommend millers at the cove to all!
(5)James S.
Went there with the neighbors for the first time, it was great! Will be back this summer on the bike.
(5)Donna F.
If you like Green Chili, don't walk, but run to Miller's At the Cove! It is authentic southwestern green chili....at its best. If you have not experienced it you are missing a treat. The menu said it was award-winning and it really deserves a blue ribbon! The tacos and fish and chips are also delicious and the people are friendly and helpful.

Moved here 4 years ago & found Miller's; fantastic, consistent & convenient. But, unfortunately in the past 6 months or more it's really gone downhill. There's always someone new in the kitchen cooking & you never know what your going to get as nothing ever tastes the same & not near as good as it was in the past. Shame really; as there are very few "good" restaurants in the Coos area so when you find one you patronize it often. Hopefully the owners will correct their employee problem. Another thing, really miss the owner hanging out there. Service was much better when she was on site.
(5)Jamie S.
Loved the fish and chips (ling cod); the crab tacos are amazing!! The clam chowder is good if you like it with a lot herbs, the crab sliders were a bit plain.
(5)Daris B.
Good food and good servers. I had the Fish (cod) and Chips and a cup of clam chowder. The fish and chips were really good. The chowder was not that good. My companions had the Captain's Platter. I will definitely go back again.

Miller's Sports Bar is a waste of money and time. The service is horrendous, the food is mediocre; you'd be better off going to McDonald's than heading to this dump. Our first experience there will certainly be our last. My family and I arrived at Miller's on a quiet Tuesday evening. When we entered it appeared we were the only people in the place. We were served by an older woman with the demeanor of the bitter wife of a drunk (think Melissa Leo in The Fighter). She coldly asked us what we wanted, answered our questions in unhelpful, terse sentences, and never had anything kind or interesting to say. When our food arrived she dropped it- literally, let it fall out of her hands- on the table. It was as though she really didn't care that we were eating at the restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. My mother's clams were overcooked, but oyster shooters were okay. The drinks were lacking for an eatery with "bar" in the title. My burger was overdone, but tasted okay. My sister ordered chicken strips that were alright. Overall Miller's was a disappointing waste of money. Food was lackluster, and service was ghastly. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Charleston is the gateway to the beautiful Oregon beaches. We came down to visit some family staying in a beach house, and took the kids down to check out the boats. On our way back, my sister-in-law said, "You guys wanna get a beer?" Seriously? You could wake me up at 3am and ask me that question and you'll get the same answer every time...Hell yeah!! Miller's at the cove was a pleasant stop. I have to admit I was sketched to head to a bar in Charleytown...so perhaps the 4 stars was partial surprise when we walked in. This place has a great feel to it. I counted 4 flat screen TV's. Each had college basketball playing. Clean, modern, it was great. Minor's are allowed being a 1/4 of the place is strictly the bar. They have a smaller bar to belly up to with right around 5 taps. Standard beers were available....Bud, Coors, Black Butte, Hef etc... The food was A-OK. I ordered the chicken strips (kicking my own ass for not getting fish and chips) which is usually a safe choice. It came with fries, garlic toast, and cole slaw. The fries were awesome, thicker with a nice crunch. Garlic toast was average and the slaw was different, but tasty. Most slaws i've had are made with mayo, this was not, I can't tell how in the hell they made it, but it tasted good and looked to be a healthier version of it, none the less, I would eat it again. They do lunch challenges also, if you beet the record, you get lunch on the house and a free T-shirt. If I remember right the records are as follows: Beef Tacos-28 Fish tacos-5 sliders-16 oyster shooters-20 Our waitress was really nice, and did a great job. She kept the beers full, waters topped off, and even catered to my kids requests for keeping a hermit crab alive. If you come down to the bay and go charter fishing, or crabbing off the docks, Millers would be a great way to end the day, with the kids being able to come in, and it having the feel of a bar, it's a win-win. I can also say I visited Charleston and did not catch crabs.
(4)Sheila K.
Loved our meal here. Amazing crab melt sandwich and the green chili came out of nowhere for a small Oregon coast town. It's hard to find a restaurant along the Oregon coast that I really actually enjoy.
(5)Anneliese G.
Great! Friendly service, and some of the freshest fish and chips I've ever had. Vinegar coleslaw instead of the typical mayo. YUM! Will definitely come here again, highly recommend if you want fish and a hot drink after a cold day at the coast.
(5)Coastal G.
Every thing that we have eaten here has been very fresh and tasty. The dollar taco Mondays are great! ! The prices are good and so are the portions. Daily happy hour had good drink and food specials. The have a bar area and a family area where kids can eat until 9pm. Staff and service is excellent !! There is nothing bad to say about this place
(5)Suzanne H.
Fabulous service, food was really good. I loved the clam chowder but hubby not a fan. He recommends the crab tacos. We want to go back and try the steamers!!
(5)Sherry B.
Excellent service and great food. Mu husband and I stopped in on a Thursday evening. The place was almost full, but we were seated quickly. I had the fried oysters which were the best I've ever eaten. They were tender and had a light, well seasoned coating. My husband had a bowl of the green chili with pork tenderloin, green chilies, tomatoes, and onions and was topped with cheese. It looked great and he said it was delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. Will definitely go back if we're ever in the area again.
(5)Shannon C.
Awesome food, awesome service. A must if your in the area. Even with the family. Would totally go back.
(5)Katherine H.
My absolute favorite after crabbing spot. Casual and favored local fishermen's hangout. Great fish tacos, beer selection and a yummy clam chowder. You only need to order one fish taco though, they're giant. I don't know many other places you can have an awesome lunch/dinner and a beer for less than $10. Also their fries are magical and go amazingly well with the fish tacos! Warning though - this isn't your usual east coast type chowder, its not creamy like most would expect but rather brothy and full of clammy goodness. If you want a potato type chowder this isn't for you, but if you love clams as much as i do, you will love this. I really have no idea about their other menu items as i can't get past the fish tacos. I'm sure its all good.
(5)Malcolm E.
Go here with my dad EVERY time I am in town. The staff are excellent and treat you like they have known you forever. I LOVE the fish and crab tacos and chowder!! If you are going to the coast make your first stop here then get a dinner to go and picnic at Cape Argo or Shore Acres!!!
(5)BlueLight R.
Good food and good beer selection..... The customer service was good, too. Will definitely be back, the next time through the area.
(3)Stewart T.
First time here. Had the steamer clams, clam chowder, green chili, crab and fish tacos. Waitress was awesome, prompt and great with us. Owner said thanks as we left, nice touch. Food was good, price was right.

It was time for trying a new seafood place and the way the Yelp reviews were running, Miller's looked like a good prospect. For the most part it turned out that way. My friend ordered a 5 piece fish and fries basket which also comes with garlic bread and a small side of coleslaw. I had two fish tacos. His food looked "normal" in presentation while mine was so stacked with goodies that I had to eat half of the stuff with a fork in order to be able to use the tortillas and eat the rest as a regular fish taco. Despite the "normal" look for the fish and fries, the taste was as good as it gets. The fish is bought right in Charleston while the coleslaw is made fresh and it's based on a family recipe of one of the two owners. My fish tacos were not particularly spicy compared to others, very white bread compared to ones made by Mexicans, but the fresh taste has a pop all it's own that is unmistakeable. Portion size is adequate, not humongous. The time from ordering to getting served is decently quick, which isn't as fast as McDonald's but this isn't fast food, it's fresh food prepared when ordered. SYSCO, the commercial provider of food, is seen by the owners as something to avoid as much as possible. You get good real food from MIller's. Service shows the owners care (good) but it's almost overbearing with too many visits to the table (bad) as there appears to be some insecurity in these two guys. They need not worry as the food is good and they are pleasant enough people in their own right as well. The one thing I always like to see on an American restaurant's menu is root beer and it's not on tap here. I'm not much for buying a bottle of root beer at restaurants and since this is a very common soft drink, I find it's absence puzzling. Otherwise the drink (soft and alcoholic) selection is fine with a full bar offered. Decor is "busy" and there's plenty to look at. Stepping outside for a smoke in a sheltered spot is not available and for a place serving drinks, this is NOT a good thing as many folks who imbibe also like to enjoy their tobacco. The day we ate was a cold wet one and the interior is not well-heated. Pricewise the place is average but you get a higher quality meal than you would at Fisherman's Grotto. You pay much less than you would at a Charleston fine dining place like Portside. For once, being in the middle isn't a bad place when you go here to eat. So if you can forgive the minor nits I pick, give Miller's a try and odds are good you will find they are a keeper!
(4)Kimberly S.
Great service, check on you often and very friendly with good senses of humor. Great food at good prices and good drinks. No complaints.....will go back!
(4)Cass B.
Fantastic food! I asked our server about the baja fish tacos and he told me they had just received some albacore that day and were frying it for the tacos a couple bucks more than the cod - so I went for it and honestly, in the top 2 fish tacos I've ever had. Done on the waterfront - these guys know what they are doing with their fish! Hubby had a cheeseburger and fries - fries are battered and delicious and Mr. Picky thought the burger was cooked perfectly. Great dinner for a very reasonable price!
(5)Kirk J.
My wife and I go to Charleston on a regular basis to buy fish at Chuck's seafood. If it is close to lunch time, we head for Miller's. It is a sports bar without it feeling that way. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. The owner's also do much of the serving and they could not be friendlier. Though we've had lunch there several times, it is hard to give a fair evaluation because we are both addicted to our menu choices. Mine is the green chili. Her's is the fish taco. The green chili is the best I've had with just the right amount of heat, served with two flour tortillas. The fish taco with cabbage, onion, cilantro and lime sauce along with two corn tortillas. The first time out, my wife ordered two. Thereafter, she orders one with one tortilla on the side. One is plenty of food and trying to eat it as a taco should makes one look somewhat barbaric. I would recommend Miller's to anyone who enjoys good food and service in a clean and casual setting. For us, it is the bright spot in Charleston eateries.
(5)Arnold B.
Friendly service, except for the cooks who scowl at you from the little kitchen window when you change your order. OK, if you want a beer, fine. If you want a beer and a few TV's to watch a game, perfect. If you want fried seafood, cool. If you want fresh fish, not the place to go. Our grandosn had the spaghetti and meatballs and he, who really has no fine palate and will usually eat us out of house and home, was so nonplussed by the meal that he didn't want to finish it. Our salads were decent. The oysters, good. The clams, average. Overall, it was disappointing seeing the ratings of 4 stars. This was the most expensive meal we have had this weekend and it was the least satisying. This is bar food. It is OK for what it is. Just know that going in.
(2)Karen H.
Loved this place! Service was very good and the food was great! I had the pork sandwich-Colorado style. It's a pork tenderloin that's breaded and deep fried but not the least bit greasy and it was HUGE. I suggested this place to some friends who had the fish tacos and they said they were the best they have had since they lived in Mexico. Highly recommend!
(4)Jack E.
Great food. Best on Charleston.
(4)Bethany N.
What fantastic service! And the food is fabulous. If you're in town for the night, don't go to the bayside restuarant. Come to this gem.
(5)Silvia D.
Excellent fish tacos, clam chowder and fish & chips! At each of our 3 visits the service was superb!
